Welcome to Caithness Motocross ...
About the club ....
Caithness Motox club is the most northerly club in the British mainland, it was formed in the early seventies and has evolved over the years to become a club that caters for both motocross and quad riders. In the past the club used to meet at different venues throughout Caithness and Sutherland to compete over varying types of terrain and annual visits to the Orkney Islands used to allow for inter club championships. The highlight of the clubs history must be when it held a Scottish Schoolboy championship race in the mid eighties at the excellent motocross track just south of Brora, this was a major scoop for such a small club as Caithness
***** Committee Message *****
The track at Ravenshill is now closed for the foreseeable future, probably until the end of January to do essential maintenance and upgrade work. We are sorry for any inconveniance caused.
*****SACU 2010 licences *****
Could club members please be aware that 2010 SACU licences will need to be applied for very soon, otherwise riders won't be able to compete. Please contact Michelle Murray for an application form. Thank you ;)
Presentation photos - adults, younger riders and the 'most improved' riders. Troy Anderson, most improved motocross rider with Danny Reid and Ben Mackenzie, who share the most improved quad rider shield. Could everyone please be aware that you will still need a valid SACU licence to race in the winter stubble park rounds. If you have changed your bike or moved up a category, you will need to apply for a new licence. 2010 licences are now available and will be valid untill the end of 2010, even if applied for now. Alternatively, you can apply for a one day event licence and then upgrade it to a full licence at a later date for the same price. New practice times - please check out the practice page. A few complaints have been received over the past week that certain club members are NOT adhering to practice times, ie children on smaller bikes are using the track during adult practice times. Apart from the fact that this is incredibly dangerous, it is also very unfair to the adults who travel to Ravenshill and then not able to practice as they are self conscious that there are children on the track. Please could all club members be aware that there are specific practice times allocated for the size of your bike and could you please stick to these times. If this happens again, the adults are well within their rights to request to the parents of the children riding, to leave the track, as it is the opposite way around. Please respect other riders or practice sessions will be cancelled in the future. * Could all club members please ensure that the gate is locked at all times, thank you * We now have for sale various items of clothing with our CMXC logo embroidered on them to promote the club and to raise a little money to cover the embroidery costs, hoody's, baseball caps etc. For more information, click here to download an order form. I will be adding waterproof jackets in the near future.

Motocross Season 2010, Ravenshill Track The clubs main objective today is to promote the off-road sport of Motocross to all ages under the watchful eye of the Scottish Auto-Cycle union (SACU) to which we are affiliated. We are currently aiming to offer a permanent venue for practicing and racing on throughout the year and a lot of hard work is being put in by willing volunteers to try to meet this aim.
New members are always welcome at the club and as the numbers show over the past few years the club is heading in the right direction. For further information or enquiries, please feel free to contact us on info@caithnessmotox.co.uk.
